Wandsworth All Zone Business Permit: Where you can and cannot park
This guide will help you understand where you can and cannot park your vehicle using a Wandsworth All Zone Business Permit.
Where you can park
With an All Zones permit, you’re entitled to park in any Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) across the entire borough of Wandsworth.
- Shared Use Bays: In areas with shared use bays, where parking is permitted for both permit holders and vehicles displaying a valid pay and display ticket, you can park your vehicle with your All Zone Business Permit.
- Permit Holder Bays: You can park in bays designated specifically for permit holders within any CPZ in Wandsworth.
Where you cannot park
Even with an All Zone Business Permit, there are locations where parking is not permitted. You must avoid parking in bays marked for:
- Pay and Display Only Bays: These bays are exclusively for vehicles displaying a valid pay and display ticket, and your business permit is not valid there. The term “Pay and Display Only” signifies that parking is solely authorized by purchasing a ticket from a pay and display machine, Wandsworth Borough Council or using a mobile parking app where available. When bays are designated as “shared use,” it means they are available for both permit holders and those who pay to park
- Disabled (Blue Badge) Holder Bays: These bays are reserved for vehicles displaying a valid disabled (Blue Badge) permit.
- Personalised Disabled Permit Holders: Parking in bays reserved for specific disabled permit holders is not allowed.
- Motorcycle Bays: These bays are for solo motorcycles only.
- Taxi Bays: These areas are reserved for taxis.
- Diplomatic Vehicle Bays: Parking in diplomatic vehicle bays is prohibited.
- Doctor’s Bays: These bays are for the exclusive use of medical professionals.
- Trader Bays: Bays specifically designated for traders are not covered by your business permit.
- Loading Bays for Goods Vehicles Only: Do not park in bays designated for loading and unloading by goods vehicles only.
- Suspended Bays: If a bay is suspended, it means parking is temporarily prohibited, regardless of your permit type.
- Double Yellow Lines: Double yellow lines indicate no waiting at any time.
- Housing Estates: Business permits are not valid on housing estates within Wandsworth, which operate their own parking controls and have specific permit requirements.
Key things to remember
- Always read the signs: Always pay close attention to the parking signs in the specific location where you intend to park, as regulations may vary depending on the area and time of day.
- Park entirely within the bay markings: Make sure your vehicle is parked completely within the designated bay markings to avoid a penalty charge notice.
- One Hour Zones: In One Hour Zones, which operate for one hour daily, usually Monday to Friday, your permit is valid during the hours of control.
- Double Red Lines: Double red lines mean no stopping at any time, except in an emergency or for disabled persons being set down or picked up.
- Single Red Lines: Single red lines also restrict stopping, but only during the times displayed on the signs.
